A polilla deste luns é un dúo de Schinia peluda (Noctuidae) descansando no que estou asumindo que é a súa planta hóspede (Erigeron sp.). Tirei este tiro 9,000 pés na meseta de Kaibab no norte de Arizona o mes pasado. Un incendio debeu queimar a zona hai uns anos porque as flores silvestres estaban espesas entre restos carbonizados de piñeiros ponderosas e estas polillas estaban por todas partes..

I thought earlier last week about the very local fire we’ve had (Motor Fire) and how I’m SUPER curious re: what it’ll mean for wildflowers next year. Our last big fire in the area combined with perfect rain patterns for a CRAZY best in 30 years Ca poppy bloom. Spectacular. Fire does SUCH cool stuff to landscapes. =) Grazas!!
