Így tartja a mondás, jobbra? Two weeks ago I participated in the 5th annual National Geographic BioBlitz át Saguaro National Park Tucson, Arizona. Ez egy nagyszerű ürügy arra, hogy újra a területen, és ez volt az első alkalom, összegyűjtött Arizona ősszel. Temps were still pushing the mid 90’s but things had been dry and the impressive abundance of the monsoon season was long gone. In total my moth colleagues and I collected around 140 fajok Lepidoptera, 56 amelyek közül microleps! Sadly though it seems that either other insects were far and few inbetween, vagy más rovartan csapatok nem gondosan egyezik mindent láttak. Csak 190 arthropods were counted in total – elvesztettük az edényes növények (325 faj) és még a gombák (205)!
Itt van egy rövid interjút velem egy tényleg hot tent with lots of kids (aki köteles adott nekem a hideg most már). Perhaps my wild estimate of a possible 15,000 fajok az USA-ban van a magasnak, de ez nem lehetetlen.
