ಮಾರುವೇಷದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕಾಪರ್ ಬಟರ್ಫ್ಲೈ

ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಶಯಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಈ ನೀಲಿ ಚಿಟ್ಟೆ ತೋರುತ್ತಿದೆ (Polyommatinae ಉಪಕುಟುಂಬ ಎಂದು)… ಇದು ಬಹಳ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ, ಬಹಳ ನೀಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಂತರ. ಆದರೆ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಊಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಾದ ರಸ್ತೆ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನೀವು ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು; ಇದು ತಿರುಗಿದರೆ ಎಂದು ಈ ಚಿಟ್ಟೆ ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಜಾತಿಯ ತಾಮ್ರ. ರೆಕ್ಕೆಗಳ ಆಕಾರಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹುಶಃ ಸಿರಾವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ ಇಲ್ಲ, but when I first saw these butterflies I assumed they were a sub-species of Plebejus icarioides (ಯಾವುದು were ಸಹ flying at this location on the Kaibab Plateau). But then I began seeing female butterflies (ಕೆಳಗಡೆ) interacting with these blues and then it dawned on me – blue copper – Lycaena heteronea austin (Lycaenidae: Lycaeninae)!

This subspecies was originally described in 1998 by the late, ಮಹಾನ್ George T. Austin as ದಿ. heteronea rutila. Given however that rutila more or less = rutilus, it was later determined rutila was actually unavailable and the subspecies name was changed to austin in honor of George.
