Que tal máis un Gelechiidae non identificado dende o mesmo lugar que o espécime anterior (Non.. Prescott, Arizona). Estou dando unha puñalada a esta polilla que está no xénero Chionodes – e é superficialmente semellante á especie C. continuar. Afortunadamente, existe unha monografía deste grupo (Trazas de América do México, fascículo 7.6) e poderei diseccionar e con sorte chegar a unha mellor identificación. Os xenitais das polillas son estruturas marabillosas esclerotizadas que poden proporcionar unha gran cantidade de caracteres utilizados para a identificación.. Terei que asegurarme de compartir imaxes do que parecen os xenitais en breve!
